The English Department for Specific Purposes (ESP) is a vital and contemporary component of our institute, playing a crucial role in preparing students for the modern professional world. This department offers a two-year program, upon the successful completion of which students will be awarded a diploma.
Throughout the course of study, the National Institute provides students with both educational and scientific opportunities to develop the necessary skills for a wide range of English-related professions. These include, but are not limited to, fields such as computer science, literature, languages, healthcare, tourism, business, and the oil industry, thereby equipping graduates for success in the evolving job market.
Across four semesters, students’ progress in English from foundational competence to advanced proficiency, with emphasis on language use in specialized professional domains.
During the first year of study, students are equipped with a strong foundation in core language components, including grammar in context, oral communication, academic debate, English literature, and pronunciation.
During the second year of study, students engage in the advanced development of English language proficiency, focusing on core linguistic components as well as English for Specific Purposes (ESP). The ESP Modules include Medical English, Advanced Writing, English for Sales and Marketing, Media English, Practical Translation, and Methods of Language Teaching.
The Graduation Project in the final semester of the English for Specific Purposes (ESP) department is notably distinct from those offered in other academic departments. This experiential learning approach allows students to synthesize their linguistic and professional skills, demonstrating their competencies through practical, market-oriented projects.
The comprehensive curriculum is designed to integrate real-world marketing projects aligned with industry needs in the English language, foster critical thinking to enhance language proficiency, and develop effective communication skills. It also builds a strong foundation in professional English, ensuring graduates are prepared for immediate employment and well-equipped for a professional career.
