World Mental Health Day Panel: Bridging Community and Hospital Mental Health Care
In celebration of World Mental Health Day, the National Institute of Technology, in collaboration with Soz Mental Hospital and Chra Mental Health Hospital, organized a panel titled “Mental Health in the Context of Community and Hospital Care.” The event brought together leading experts to explore the intersection of mental health services, social environments, and institutional care.
The panel featured:
Dr. Aram Tofiq Hama Saeed – A university professor with a PhD in Sociology and over a decade of experience in human rights advocacy through civil society organizations. Dr. Aram presented a compelling article on “The Effect of Social Environment on Mental Health,” highlighting how societal dynamics shape psychological well-being.
Dr. Hemn Fatih Hama Karim – A board-certified psychiatrist and Director of both Soz and Chra Mental Hospitals. Dr. Hemn shared insights on “Mental Illness and the Role of Mental Service Centers,” emphasizing the importance of accessible and integrated care systems.
Dr. Diman Ahmad Saeed – Serving as the panel director, Dr. Diman holds a Doctorate in Adult Nursing and lectures at the National Institute of Technology. Her leadership ensured a structured and impactful dialogue throughout the session.
This collaborative initiative reflects the Institute’s commitment to fostering interdisciplinary dialogue and promoting mental health awareness across academic and healthcare sectors.
